Biography

Jean was raised on a farm south of Foremost and moved to Lethbridge to complete Grade 12. She received her Business Administration Diploma from Lethbridge Community College. Jean, her husband John and their two sons moved to Coaldale in 1983. Both sons received their schooling at Coaldale public schools. After several years in the administrative field, Jean changed career paths and obtained her Securities and Life licenses. For the past 9 years Jean has been an independent representative in the financial services industry. Her goals are to help families become debt-free and financially independent through education and understanding simple concepts so they can make smart choices with their money; and second, to help develop people for leadership positions and eventually enable them to own their own businesses. The decision to become self-employed has also given Jean the freedom and flexibility to spend more time with family and friends, as well as community activities. Jean currently belongs to Coaldale Sunny South Speakers, Toastmasters, and was on the Executive for 2 years. She also enjoys travel and is an avid reader. Jean believes that through education and personal development, both in the schools and at home, we can achieve a better tomorrow for our children and have a positive impact on our society.
