AP 250 - Guidance and Counselling Services

Comprehensive guidance and counselling services are an integral component of school services and programs. These services will be designed to enhance students’ attitudes and values and will include individualized, small-group or class activities that assist students in the following areas—educational, personal/social and career. Counselling services may be developmental, preventative or crisis-oriented.

Palliser Regional Schools provides family school liaison counsellors for support to students experiencing personal/social, emotional and/or behavioural concerns and their families.


  1. The principal shall ensure that the services comply with the procedures specified in Alberta Education Policy 1.6.3.
  2. The division’s Student Services Handbook provides procedural guidance regarding access, supports and services available through the Family School Liaison Program.
