Palliser Regional Schools is proud to provide a stimulating and satisfying work environment in a school system that is devoted to supporting student learning at all levels.
Every Palliser employee works as part of a team that supports student learning needs. The division has high expectations of both staff and students and commits the necessary resources to support our people in achieving success.
Our employees are part of one of the highest achieving school divisions in the province.
Supports for our teachers include:
- An induction and mentorship program to support beginning teachers through their first three years of teaching. Teachers build relationships with experienced mentors, work collaboratively on classroom management and lesson planning, and are trained in Stephen R. Covey’s The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.
- Opportunity to apply for inclusion in a Lead Teacher Cohort for teachers who self-identify and show promise as future school leaders.
- An Administrators’ Induction and Mentorship Program to support principals and vice-principals through their first two years in administration.
- An Administrators’ Association for principals, vice-principals and Central Office administrators to collaborate, share best practices and focus on the ongoing development of rigorous instructional leadership and supervision.
Palliser employees have access to a comprehensive benefits program. Health and vision care benefits are provided through the Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP). Pension benefits for qualifying staff are provided through the Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Our teachers have access to transition to retirement benefits as well as the full range of professional development as outlined in Palliser’s collective agreement with the Alberta Teachers’ Association.
Collaboration and development through small professional learning groups are supported through the division’s provision of four division-wide collaboration days, giving our teachers opportunity to work towards improved student learning with other professionals across the division.
Palliser supports ongoing improvement of teaching practice by giving teachers access to division expertise in literacy, early intervention and inclusive education.
