No classes Friday or Monday

Palliser Regional Schools Central Office in Lethbridge and our schools will be closed Friday, Nov. 11 in honour of Remembrance Day.

Many of our schools are holding their own commemorative services today, Nov. 10 for not only students and staff but for the broader community. Thank you to our staff for their thoughtful planning of these services to pay respect to our veterans and men and women of the Canadian Forces.

Please note that Monday, Nov. 14 is a division-wide professional development day for our teachers. This means our students will have an extra long weekend, returning to classes on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

In Flanders Fields
By John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
