Tom Hamer

Superintendent of Schools

Tom Hamer was appointed Superintendent of the Palliser School Division in 2025, following over a decade of service in senior leadership roles, including Deputy Superintendent, Learning Services and Director of Learning and Technology. Since joining the Division in 2014, Tom has consistently championed innovation, inclusion, and a culture of continuous improvement across Palliser schools.

Tom brings a unique blend of strategic vision, collaborative leadership, and an unwavering commitment to student success. He is known for fostering a workplace culture grounded in growth, empathy, and the belief that excellence stems from embracing imperfection and learning from it. His leadership philosophy, reflected in his personal motto, “Semper ad meliore” (“always toward improvement”), emphasizes intentional growth and empowering others.

Tom holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Bishop’s University, along with degrees in Biology (BSc), Geography (BA), and a Diploma in Education.
