Our government values the efforts of school bus drivers throughout the province who transport approximately 300,000 students safely to and from school every day. School bus drivers play an important role in the safety and well-being of the students they transport. For many students in Alberta, the school day starts the moment they board the bus to go to school.
School bus drivers are a vital part of our school communities, and their impact is felt far beyond their role in transportation.
I am very proud to recognize May 2, 2022, as School Bus Driver Appreciation Day in honour of the commitment of school bus drivers to our students and their daily extra efforts.
