Palliser Regional Schools is pleased to announce Craig Albrecht will join the team in the role of Communications Specialist Aug. 24
Albrecht, who will work under Palliser Communications Officer Dawn Sugimoto, has served in a communications role at Westwind School Division for the past three years. He looks forward to the many challenges and rewards that come with increasing awareness and engagement with community partners in such a diverse school division.
The native of Red Deer, AB, has enjoyed a lifelong connection with the world of education. Both of his parents were long-time teachers and his wife of more than 25 years, Sharleen Albrecht, is a school administrator with Lethbridge School District No. 51.
Education took him in another direction, however, as he enrolled in the Journalism Arts program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary. That path led him into a career in the communications industry which spanned almost three decades. Albrecht served the Lethbridge Herald for 25 years as a reporter, starting with sports and then covering a number of beats including education. He held the position of editor with the Lethbridge Herald before joining Westwind School Division as its first Communications Officer.
Albrecht joins Palliser as part of a Central Office restructuring that will see Sugimoto assume additional responsibilities in support of the Superintendent's office.
