The Palliser School Division is pleased to announce that George Graffunder has been appointed to the role of Vice-Principal at Menno Simons Christian School, commencing August 25, 2021, for the 2021-2022 school year.
George completed his Bachelor of Physical Education in 1987 and his Bachelor of Education (after Degree) in 1989, both from the University of Calgary. In 1990, he completed a Bachelor of Religious Education from the Alberta Bible College and also has his Level 1 Google Certified Educator status.
Teaching at Trinity Christian School for the past 21 years, George has been blessed to work with an amazing staff and he is looking forward to building the same connection with the students, staff, and community at large at Menno Simons Christian School.
Two very interesting teaching experiences that George has undertaken in his career were spending two years teaching at Rain Forest International School, in Cameroon, and assisting with Google training with teachers from the Commonwealth of Dominica and the IT for Dominica foundation.
"My deep hope is that every student would know who they are in Christ, and would know how this impacts their daily choices," states George. “I have always said that students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care, so I make it a priority to build strong relationships with students and their families.”
Married to his wife Charlene, for 20 years, they have 6 children. George enjoys spending time with his family camping, playing guitar, and cheering for the Vancouver Canucks in his spare time.
George is very excited for the opportunity to join the Menno Simons team and continue to work with dedicated Palliser staff, committed to student learning and collaborative culture. Congratulations!
