Palliser salutes its teachers across the division on World Teachers' Day.
First proclaimed by UNESCO in 1994, World Teachers' Day, Oct. 5, is an opportunity to raise awareness, understanding and appreciation for the vital work of teachers around the globe.
This year's theme is "Valuing Teachers, Improving Their Status."
Palliser thanks all of its teachers for their work, day in, day out, to support students by providing inclusive and quality educational opportunities. Through their hard work and commitment, Palliser delivers on our mission: "Together we will ensure learning success for all students to develop their unique potential as caring citizens in a changing world."
In honour of World Teachers' Day, we're sharing a message from Rita Pierson, a third-generation teacher whose TED Talks was titled "Every kid needs a champion."
