Palliser School Division is very pleased to announce the appointment of Leanne Topp as the Vice Principal at the National Sports School in Calgary.
Leanne grew up in Saskatchewan, and went on to complete her undergraduate degree in education at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Her favourite teaching areas are Social Studies and English, and her career began by teaching in several places in Saskatchewan. In the year 2000 she made the move to Calgary and began her work with the Calgary Board of Education. This led to her association with the National Sport School as a teacher. She is just reaching the point where half of her 27 year career has been at the NSS, as she has been with them for 13 years. The students and staff at the NSS have benefited greatly from her expertise in their program as the school became a member program with Palliser School Division this current year.
Leanne is married and her family includes two teenagers - 13 and 16 years of age. She models the active living that her school so excellently promotes; her interests lead her outdoors where she is often out walking and enjoying the beautiful natural setting which the Calgary area affords. As a change of pace, she also enjoys reading and family time.
Join us in congratulating Leanne on this new role at the National Sports School!
