Kevin Petrisor, of Facilities Services, checks his handiwork after hanging the portraits of this year’s Wall of Fame inductees – Karen Schwartzkopf-Genswein and Susan Poelman – at Palliser Regional Schools Central Office.

Since 2007 Palliser Regional Schools has been making a special point of celebrating the successes of past students and staff, while hopefully inspiring future students as well.

We need your help to ensure we don't miss out on any deserving individuals.

Palliser’s Wall of Fame features the portraits of 43 deserving individuals, all of whom were recognized in a ceremony before hundreds of staff from across the division during Opening Day celebrations for their prolonged and significant service in their chosen work or area of interest.

Their accomplishments are as diverse as the school division’s students. The inductees range from those having made contributions in the field of politics, medicine and aviation, to fine arts, humanitarian service and athletics. The inductees embody the Palliser motto which encourages us all to "Dream and Believe; Learn and Achieve."

The most recent inductees were Dr. Karen Schwartzkopf-Genswein, a Coalhurst High School graduate in the area of animal science, and Dr. Susan Poelman, a Calgary Christian School graduate in the area of medicine/dermatology.

Palliser Regional Schools was created in 1995 through the consolidation of two parent school boards which represented the majority of the County of Vulcan and the entirety of the County of Lethbridge. We recognize the changing face of the school division over the years since, and nominees do not need to have worked at, or attended, a school while it was under the Palliser banner at the time.

Palliser is stronger for the contributions of all. While we encourage nominations of former students and staff from all corners of our boundaries, we are also hoping for greater representation from more recent additions to the Palliser family.

Anyone may nominate an individual for this recognition. The nomination form and any accompanying documents are available on the Palliser division website at https://www.pallisersd.ab.ca/about-us/palliser-wall-of-fame
