Four Picture Butte High School students, Warren Asplund, Justin Witdouck, Broek Murray, and Melissa Bexte, mentored by Jared Nieboer and Mike Oliver, competed against other schools within southern Alberta at the 2nd annual KidWind Challenge.

The PBHS students were victorious as they dominated both the knowledge and performance components of the competition.

This is the second successful submission by PBHS students following their win from the 2012 Kid Wind Challenge. The KidWind Challenge was held May 17, 2013 in conjunction with the National Science Fair at the University of Lethbridge.

The KidWind Challenge is a student-oriented wind turbine design contest where teams are assessed on the originality, performance, and construction of their turbines as well as their knowledge of wind energy topics.
