Palliser School Division is pleased to announce that Carmen Larsen has accepted the role of Director of Learning, Curriculum, commencing August 5, 2025.

Carmen brings a strong background in educational leadership and curriculum development, with a focus on fostering student success and well-being. She earned a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge and completed her Master of Education in Educational Leadership at Gonzaga University in 2011.

Carmen has been a dedicated educator for over 20 years, most recently serving as Director of Learning with Holy Spirit Catholic Schools since 2019. In this role, she provided leadership in curriculum, instructional programs, and professional development, and oversaw Off-Campus work, International Education, Education Technology, and Library Services.

Reflecting on this new opportunity, Carmen shared: “I’m honoured to be joining the Palliser School Division community. I’ve worked in education for 21 years, most recently as Director of Learning with Holy Spirit Catholic Schools since 2019. I strongly believe that the key to effective curriculum implementation lies in empowering teachers—through meaningful professional learning and opportunities for leadership and collaboration—so that every student has the chance to succeed.”

She added: “I’m excited for the opportunities this new role will bring and, most of all, I look forward to getting to know the staff, students and families that make up Palliser School Division.”

Carmen has been married to her husband Dustin for 18 years, and together they have a 14-year-old son, Owen. As a family, they love to golf and travel whenever they get the chance.

Please join us in welcoming Carmen to her new role.  We look forward to her contributions in shaping our curriculum and enhancing learning experiences for all students within Palliser School Division.
