The Palliser School Division is pleased to announce that Jianfeng (Jeff) Qi has accepted the role of Technology Services Supervisor, commencing August 9, 2021. 

Jeff comes to The Palliser School Division from Long Lake First Nation Education Authority in Longlac, ON, as their IT Specialist.  He previously worked as a Systems Administrator at the Institute of Research, Data and Training with the University of New Brunswick from 2018 until July 2020.  From 2009 to 2018, Jeff was the Senior Network Administrator for Nelson House Education Authority in Nelson House, MB.

Jeff attended Zhejiang University in China, a top 3 ranked University in China, and received his Bachelor degree in Computer Science in 1990.  He later attended Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) to receive his Certificate of Computer Network Administrator diploma.  Jeff was also pursuing his Master of Information System Security Management from the Concordia University of Edmonton. 

Born in China, Jeff is very proud of his Chinese roots.  His parents are both in their 80’s and are still living in China.  One of Jeff’s ancestors was a national hero of China, 1528 to 1588, who defeated the Japanese invasion on the coast. 

Jeff and his wife have two children.  When he is not working, Jeff enjoys fishing and can be found catching many Walleye.
