Trio of principal appointments announced

Palliser Regional Schools is pleased to announce the following principal appointments for the 2014-15 school year:

Second principal to bring leadership to colony schools

Danny Roberts will assume the role of Hutterian Colony Principal commencing the 2014-15 school year. Danny will work in collaboration with Wayne Tate, Hutterian Colony Principal, to support the instructional needs of the Hutterian schools. Palliser Regional Schools serves 17 Hutterian Colony schools in southern Alberta.

Danny graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and a Master’s of Science from the University of Oregon. Danny has been a teacher and Principal at Kate Andrews High School since 1992. Prior to his teaching career with Palliser, Danny worked for Alberta Education, as well as taught in Barrhead and Fort McMurray.

Danny is a proud father of two sons: Noah is enrolled in the Engineering program at the University of Montreal; and Luc is currently enrolled in a Doctoral program in Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge.

Danny is looking forward to his new role and is anxious to get started with the colony schools. Danny is equally pleased to continue his participation with the Superintendent’s Leadership team.

Familiar face as principal of Calgary Christian Elementary

Gwen Uittenbosch has accepted the role of Principal of Calgary Christian Elementary School commencing the 2014-15 school year.

The school serves students from kindergarten through Grade 6.

Gwen graduated from the Teacher’s College and UNB Fredericton with a Teaching Certificate and a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics. Gwen later attended the University of Lethbridge to complete her Bachelor of Education degree. Gwen has taught in Moncton, Lethbridge, Fort McMurray and Calgary, which she now calls home.

During her teaching career with Palliser, Gwen has been a Principal at Calgary Christian Secondary and Principal of Glenmore Christian Academy Elementary.

Gwen is married to Marcel who is an air-traffic controller at Calgary International Airport. Together they have three grown daughters: Chelsey, Carisa and Courtney – all of whom are graduates of Calgary Christian School.

Outside of school, Gwen enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, golfing and reading.

Gwen is thrilled to continue her participation with the Superintendent’s Leadership team and looks forward to meeting the staff, students and parents of Calgary Christian Elementary School.

Congratulations, Jason, new principal of Arrowwood and Milo 

Jason Neville has accepted the role of Principal at Arrowwood School and Milo School, commencing the 2014-15 school year.

Jason grew up in North Battleford, Sask.. He graduated with a Bachelor in Education from the University of Saskatchewan and later completed his Master’s Degree at the University of Alberta.

Jason has spent the last six years working in Palliser Regional Schools most recently as Principal of Champion School. Prior to his time at Champion, Jason was a teacher at Calgary Christian Elementary School and Principal of Dorothy Dalgliesh School in Picture Butte. Before joining Palliser, Jason was the Principal of St. Paul High School in St. Paul, AB.

Jason is thrilled to be part of the Superintendent’s Leadership team and to take on his new administrative role in Palliser Regional Schools. Jason looks forward to meeting and working with the staff, students and parents of Arrowwood and Milo.
