Palliser Regional Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Kwasny as the division’s Technology Integration Specialist.
Kwasny joined Palliser Regional Schools in 2001 as a math teacher at Picture Butte High School. Prior to that, he taught high school in Calgary.
He holds bachelor of education and science degrees from the University of Alberta.
“I’m looking forward to continuing what Rocky Wilson helped Palliser teachers accomplish in technology integration,” he says. “I'm a big believer in utlizing technology for assessment and for automating tasks to make the most effective use of teachers’ time to support student learning at all levels.”
The Technology Integration Specialist is a key member of the Technology Services team and plays a vital role in Palliser’s Academic Wrap-Around Team, which supports the classroom teacher in identifying strategies targeted to an individual student’s success. Kwasny will also be an integral part of the ongoing development of Palliser Beyond Borders, a school offering online courses, and in use of Google Apps for Education across the division. His expertise will help support teachers across the division.
Kwasny will transition to his new role this fall.
A runner and triathlete, Kwasny referees rugby from the high school to university levels across Alberta. He and wife Tracy have three sons, ages nine, seven and three.
