Palliser Regional Schools will join Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Catholic School District in closing our Calgary schoolsMonday, June 24, as well as Brant Christian School, where the majority of students reside in High River and Okotoks. Our high schools — Heritage Christian Academy, Calgary Christian Secondary School, Master’s College and Brant Christian School — will remain open for students who wish to write their diploma exams.

Decisions regarding the status of our Calgary/Brant schools for the remainder of the week will be made in consultation with Alberta Education. Updates will be provided as they become available. Alberta Education has additional information on its website athttp://education.alberta.ca/department/newsroom/albertafloodsfaq.aspx

All Grade 9 Provincial Achievement Tests will be cancelled for our Calgary/Brant students, who will receive their teacher-awarded mark. All final exams for all Calgary/Brant students will be cancelled and students will receive their teacher-awarded mark.

Our Calgary/Brant students who were scheduled to write diploma exams this week have several options, and we would encourage students and their families to consider these options and choose what’s best both for the student’s academic needs and, most importantly, their safety and well-being:

  1. Students may opt out of their diploma exams and receive their teacher-awarded mark.  Due to the extraordinary circumstances, students do not need to fill out an exemption form. This will be completed on the student’s behalf by the school.
