An experienced principal from Calgary will take on the new role as Director of Human Resources in Palliser Regional Schools, starting Feb. 8.
Ryan Brennan has served as principal of Heritage Christian Academy since 2012-2013, and has he has been a Palliser staff member since the school joined the division in 2006. The school is one of the division’s largest, with about 650 students from kindergarten through Grade 12.
Brennan earned his master’s degree specializing in educational leadership from the University of Calgary in June 2014, and his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Regina in 1999. He has 17 years of teaching experience in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
This year, Brennan is serving as vice-chair of Palliser’s Administrators’ Association, a group composed of principals, vice-principals and Central Office administrators.
“I look forward to continuing to work with our diverse school division in this new role,” Brennan said. “I am excited to continue to build upon Palliser's successes in student achievement, literacy and safe and caring and working with the Central Office team in supporting all of its schools, staff and students."
He and his wife Deanna have two children, Emma and Jaden, who are students at Heritage Christian Academy. In his spare time, he enjoys basketball, camping and travelling with his family.
The new role will support the continued growth of Palliser staff and students in Calgary.
