Palliser Regional Schools salutes teachers here and around the globe on today’s World Teachers’ Day.
The slogan for today’s event is “A Call for Teachers!”
“Since teachers are the most powerful force for equity, access and quality education, a call for teachers means calling for quality education for all,” reads a statement on UNESCO’s website.
“Quality education offers hope and the promise of a better standard of living. There is no stronger foundation for lasting peace and sustainable development than a quality education provided by well trained, valued, supported and motivated teachers.”
World Teachers’ Day is celebrated by UNESCO and its partners, the International Labour Organization (ILO), UNDP, UNICEF and Education International (EI).
Palliser Regional Schools thanks its teachers for their dedication to supporting student learning and for their many efforts to encourage students’ to be active and engaged citizens close to home and on the global stage.
