It was back to school early for nine first-year teachers taking part in Palliser Regional Schools’ Induction and Mentorship Program.
They learned about routines and procedures and practical strategies for the classroom. Also getting an orientation into available support services and procedures unique to Palliser were another 28 teachers new to the division and eight, first-time school administrators.
The idea behind the program – which included meeting the Board of Trustees and senior administration – is to set up those staff members for success in the coming year. Teachers in Palliser officially began preparations Aug. 27 with the first day of class Sept. 4.
