A meeting of stakeholders was held at Noble Central School May 28, as preliminary work begins in advance of the school's modernization.

Palliser Regional Schools' Board of Trustees, administration, Facility Services department and school leaders were represented and joined by representatives from the Nobleford School Council, Village of Nobleford, Alberta Infrastructure and Alberta Education. The meeting was led by the project's lead consultant team from Sahuri and Partners Architecture.

Stakeholders reviewed the results of the Alberta Infrastructure value assessment process that was held in August 2012 and provided input into the design of the facility.

The meeting confirmed four main goals for the modernization project:

1.       Providing a modernized learning environment for students in the community;

2.       Addressing the buildings “barrier free” challenges and making it accessible to all students, staff and community members;

3.       Ensuring the safest environment for students and staff;

4.       Planning for future requirements for the both the school and the community.

Major topics discussed included the planning process moving forward, community partnerships and safe and efficient decanting of students during construction phase.

Palliser Regional Schools will continue to provide updates throughout this exciting project.
