Barons and Carmangay schools kicked off their One Book, One School project Feb. 26 with a homemade stew dinner, prepared by the foods class at Carmangay Outreach School, family activities and the reading of the first chapter.
Students, families and staff from both schools will be reading "Little H ouse in the Big Woods," by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
This is the first time the schools have participated in a One School, One Book project. The reading of the book and related activities are expected to continue through April.
Barons School serves students up to Grade 6. Carmangay Outreach School is home to a junior high and an outreach high school. All the students at both sites have a Low German-speaking Mennonite background.
